The past couple of days the rain has really been coming down. All of the snow has since been washed away, but last week our cute Nuttin' Honey a/k/a Nutmeg was back for a visit.
She was playing in the snow looking for more seed ...
then realized she got caught like a kid in a candy store! I love all the snow on her face.
I also spotted this Tufted Titmouse with brushy crest near the feeder. These adorable songbirds tend to get overlooked because they aren't as flashy as other avians. You may recognize them though by their trademark call that sounds like a whistled peter-peter-peter.
Thank you for submitting names for my squirrel friend. I've decided to call him or her Nutmeg.

ReplyDeleteAdorable pictures Donna!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are just adorable, Donna.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are wonderful! I, too, love the visits from the squirrels. This past summer, it was beastly hot. I just happened to glance out the window and there was this squirrel sprawled on the branch of the tree... just tuckered out! Priceless!! Up til that point, I had never seen an exhausted squirrel!
ReplyDeleteNutmeg is a great name for this cutie! Your photos are wonderful, especially of the titmouse. I just learned their peter-peter-peter call last weekend on a birding expedition. Visiting from WTS. :)
ReplyDeleteso sweet!
ReplyDeleteNutmeg may have had some seed buried there, they do that and so do the crows... Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #69!

It looks bbrrr cold but fun. So cute too. :)
ReplyDeleteSquirrels have so much character. We didn't put out any peanuts last year, so I think ours moved on to more productive territory. - Maryg
ReplyDeleteLovely captures.
ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteNutmeg and the titmouse are very photogenic. I also enjoy watching the creatures that visit my yard.
ReplyDeleteYour little squirrel is a gem! And it's good to give some lime light to less colourful birds too! They have their beauty as you have shown here!
ReplyDeleteCute squirrel and I love the Titmouse shot! Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteThey're both adorable. I bet they're a lot of fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, Nutmeg is such a cute name for the little furry fella. We have one too that comes around and gets into our bird feeder but he hasn't been seen all winter for some reason. The chickadees are happy about it though and even the crossbills have visited the feeder once in a while this winter which is nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this at my HOME and Happy Valentines Day.
Blessings,
Sandi
