Early September

Over the weekend I was doing a little garden clean up and took a few snapshots to share with you.  Things are really starting to wind down.

This adorable chipmunk was resting on top of my fountain.  He didn't know I was there  :-)

Bright purple berries grace the Beautyberry shrub.  A sure sign autumn is soon approaching.

Joe-Pye Weed has clusters of fuzzy pink flowers.  Folklore states that Joe Pye, an Indian healer from New England, used this plant to cure fevers.  It is always so interesting to find out how a plant obtained its name.

The happy faces of Japanese anemones.

The leaves are slowly starting to turn on the Virginia Sweetspire and the grasses are swaying in the breeze.

Hydrangea blooms are fading.

A pretty hosta flower is still hangin' on.

"Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful,
for beauty is God's handwriting."
 ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson ~

Thank you for taking a short stroll with me.  Until next time ...

  7. Great pictures! The chipmunks have been scurrying around here getting ready for winter. You're exactly where I'm at in my gardens. Fall is moving in. It's hard to believe that in a month we'll be seeing fall colors!

  10. Morning Donna,
Love that shot of the lil chipmunk,
so cute! Lovely shots of your yard.
Don't you just love those beauty
berries, we have some that grow wild
and they are in the woods in the side yard of our house and I rarely go over there, so now I want to go check and see if we have any!! lol

I adore flowers too, can't begin to even imagine or want to imagine life without them.

Hope you have had a good week, and that you will be feeling chipper as can be soon. Praying for that!

    Blessings, Nellie
