Shelving Rock Falls

Hi blogging friends,

Last Saturday was such a beautiful day we decided to take a ride to Shelving Rock Falls, which is a 80-foot cascade that lies to the east side of Lake George.  It was an easy hike with a path that leads to a gorgeous waterfall.  It was a day to get out and breathe some fresh air.

I hope you will enjoy the waterfalls and scenery as I take you on a brief tour.

The carriage road will take you to the dam above the falls.

A short scramble downhill to the base of the falls.

The falls cascades over large protrusions of ledge, with a deep pool beneath.

The foot path beside Shelving Rock brook.

We came to a wooden foot bridge.

The beautiful serene lake so peaceful.

As we were heading back, we noticed this brush-like group of pines in the foreground, which will vie to someday become the mature pines behind them.

We enjoyed a beautiful waterfall with a lakeside hike.  I hope you're not too tired from the trip.

Thank you for stopping by to visit me!
