Inspired by Simply Soft

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to report the latest storm is going to be east of us - yippee!  A quick look at the garden and I see some crocus sprouts peeking through the soil.  I'm so ready for spring to begin!

This card has been kickin' around on my project table for a while now.  Obviously, some other shiny object distracted me ... LOL.

The background papers are Sahara Sand and Parisian Breeze joined together with a piece of Victoria lace.  I used the color spritzer tool with a Sahara Sand marker to add a bit of color to the top portion.  I was surprised to see the spritzer tool on SU's retirement list last year.

A piece of Very Vanilla paper was cut from a Spellbinders Large Standard Circles #5 die.  The flowers were stamped in StazOn Timber Brown.  Baja Breeze and Mellow Moss inks were applied with a blender pen.  I love these floral images for watercoloring.  The image was then adhered to a Baja Breeze Lacey Circle.

Inspire was stamped in Baja Breeze and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The small petite oval was mounted onto a large petite oval from Parisian Breeze paper.  A lace bow with antique brad finish it off.

I'm amazed it is almost April.  I've been enjoying the longer days, seeing the bare patches appear on the lawn, watching the chipmunks and squirrels gather around the feeder.  Soon the earthy spring smell will be upon us.

Thank you for coming by.  Have a wonderful evening.

Vee's Notecard Party - March

It's time once again for Vee's Notecard party.  Each month we select four photographs from our blog that are notecard worthy.  This month I have selected some of my favorite "snowy friends" to share with you.

Nutmeg is always looking pretty ...

This little tufted titmouse doesn't have a care in the world ...

A male cardinal sporting his brilliant red plumage!

A Cooper's Hawk spotted in the backyard.  My first time viewing such a pretty raptor.

Here's the box cover for my March notecards.

Have you been doing any bird watching lately?

Please drop by A Haven for Vee to visit more notecard photos.  I'm also linking with Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday and joining Wild Bird Wednesday.

All Dressed Up!

Hi everyone,

Today is my 21st wedding anniversary.  I can't believe how fast the time flies!  I decided to put on my best dress for the day  :-)  It feels so nice to be all dolled up!  This card was created using the Spellbinders Decorative Dress Forms and Elegant Post dies.  Once I had everything cut out I stamped the pearl necklace in Early Espresso ink and colored each pearl with a clear Spica pen.  The lace portion of the dress was done in Distress Victorian Velvet.  I used a piece of vintage lace to create a shawl.  The skirt was stamped in Close to Cocoa ink and colored with a variety of pink inks then I used a few Copics.  I applied Shimmerz Paint in Antique Lace, Pink Poinsettia & Burgundy.

Background papers are Close to Cocoa with K&Company Ancestry.com  I added a 4" doily, which was sponged with Brilliance Pearlescent Beige.  The Very Vanilla strip along the bottom is from the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accent set.

On a double ended tag Beautiful was stamped in Close to Cocoa and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Faux pearls accent the ends and scroll along the left corner.  Prima Marketing Fairytale Roses finish it off.

Tonight I'm making a special dinner for my hubby.  We had hoped to go out, but didn't know what type of weather we were going to end up with.  So this weekend we will treat ourselves.  Have a wonderful evening!  I'll be stopping to visit you.

A Birthday Timepiece

Today is my friend's birthday! I wish him a very happy birthday filled with blessings! This card is made using the BoBunny Timepiece Collection.  This collection gives off a very heritage inspired feel to me.

The base card is coco layered with a piece of Cherry Cobbler.  Two pieces of designer paper were cut for the background and trimmed with satin ribbon.  A clock created from chipboard was popped up.  I added a bow with matching clock brad.

I used the extra-large curly label punch to cut a piece of Very Vanilla paper.  Friend was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  SU's Vintage Labels set was used for the frame.  This piece was layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip cut from a Labels One Small #2 die.  The Cherry Cobbler flourish was glued and the label was popped up.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip and embossed with clear embossing powder.  A few gear images were stamped in Chocolate Chip.

Here's hoping your week is off to a fabulous start.  I appreciate all your wonderful comments.
