Key Gift Tags

Hi blogging friends,

Wow, I can't believe another week is upon us.  January has just been flying by!  I hope you are keeping warm and cozy after the pile of snow some of you received.  I have a set of key tags to show you today using a Hero Arts stamp with matching die.

The images were stamped in StazOn Timber Brown onto a piece of Gilded Christmas paper (although the paper doesn't look Christmasy).  Sponging was done with Distress Antique Linen and Pink Pirouette.  They were cut out using the Hero Arts Rectangle Frame Cuts.

Mini clay roses were made using Stampin' Up clay with Pixie Pink ink.  These were a little tough to handle because they are so small.  I ended up putting the mold into the freezer for a few minutes before popping the roses out.  Once they set I sprayed them with Sheer Shimmer Frost.

Cute antique brass keys were tied around organza ribbon with gold cording.

These tags would be great for either Valentine's Day or as Thank You tags.  It seems I am becoming a gift tag-a-holic.  I love making gift tags - so quick and easy!

Have a wonderful evening and thank you for stopping by.

Tree Poem in Twilight

Hi there, I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday!  My card today uses the pretty Stampendous Tree Poem stamp, which was designed by Lisa Hindsley who also wrote the poem.

I first stamped the image in StazOn Stone Gray on Shimmery White paper, then created a mask for the moon using a circle punch and post-it note.  The background was sponged with Bordering Blue, Adirondack Aqua, Lavender Lace, Adirondack Purple Twilight and Adirondack Denim.  It's hard to believe I used that many colors to blend it!

Before mounting the focal piece I wrapped a piece of sheer blue ribbon and did my triple loop bow. A clear Stampin' Up circle rhinestone brad accents the center.  Everything was mounted to a cardbase called Fresh Air.

It has been a while since I created a scenic card - I think my Stampscapes stamps are calling me :-)

They were predicting snow for the weekend, but I think that has since changed.  Cloudy and windy is my prediction.

Thank you for stopping by and I truly appreciate all your comments.

Sweet Birdie

Hello friends,

I hope you had a terrific Tuesday!  I'm back today with a sweet little birdie card.  This stamp is by Red Lead Paper Works.  I believe I purchased it early last year.

I've used the Spellbinders Labels Eight and Decorative Labels Eight dies to cut some beautiful patterned paper by Manuela Zimmermann.  She has some of the most elegant designs.

The bird and definition were stamped in StazOn Timber Brown.  Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol were used to color the bird.

A tag was created with the Sing Sweet stamp and cut out by hand and popped up.  I added a Stampin' Up vintage button with linen thread.

Do you have any Red Lead stamps?  As I type this the snow is gently falling.  I'm hoping the ground will be covered in white by the morning.

Today I am joining ...

Be Mine Valentine Tags

Winter is finally here ... brrr.  Yesterday I dug out my winter gloves and scarf (I know I should have done it sooner).  While my kitty slept by the fire, I took to my craft room to work on more Valentine's Day projects.  I just love handmade gifts for the different occasions.

I cut some beautiful rose patterned paper using a Spellbinders Nested Heart die.  While keeping the paper in the die I sponged Brilliance Platinum Planet ink over the embossing.  A smaller heart was cut with the Classic Hearts die.  Be Mine was stamped in Bravo Burgundy ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  The edges were inked in Pink Pirouette.  The little heart was popped up to give dimension.

A pretty pink rose was adhered to the top with 1/4" satin white ribbon.  These were super quick and easy to create while dinner was in the oven.  Oh, and in case you are wondering Lasagna was on the menu.

I received the new Stampin' Up Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs (thank you so much Terry).  Well, I have to say I'm a little disappointed as SU is coming out with more and more photopolymer stamps.  These are my least favorite and not the best stamps for embossing or using StazOn inks.  Did anything special catch your eye?  I thought the Bloomin' Love set was adorable with the matching Heart Thinlits Die.  Just wish it was a rubber stamp set  :-(

Have a wonderful evening and to all my friends in the Northeast - keep warm!

Happy New Year!

Hi blogging friends,

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and all the best in 2016, let it bring you happiness, prosperity and peace.  Today starts a clean slate - anything can happen this year and I'll be ready and waiting for it!

"Each age has deemed the new-born year the fittest time for festal cheer." ~ Walter Scott

I'm jumping right into Valentine's Day and have some Shabby Chic tags to share with you.

Happy Valentine's Day was stamped and embossed in Bravo Burgundy ink.  The little heart was colored in Pink Pirouette and accented with Crystal Effects.

Rose patterned paper, pastel rose flowers and seaming binding give these tags a Victorian feel - Ooh la la!

Here I was trying to capture the Iridescent Ice.  Can you see the shimmer?

I have so many things I want to accomplish this year, including adding more items to my Etsy shop and blogging more.

Thank you for your visits this past year, kind words and support.  I hope some of my projects will inspire you.
