Sweet Violets

As the flowers burst open in the garden I've picked some little sweet violets to enjoy.

Their wonderful scent perfuming the air ...

Symbolizing the renewal of spring and the flower of Greece.

The 'Flower of Modesty' as it hides its pretty purple flowers in the heart shaped leaves.

A dainty cherub planter holds more delicate violets surrounded by 'Pink Delight' meadow sage.

I hope you have been enjoying the beauty of spring.  There is so much to share with you as I make some changes in the gardens.

Watching It All Begin ...

I've been watching the gardens transform ...

This little friend will be our tour guide today.

One particular flower that sends me swooning is the 'Lilac Perfection' tulip.

The beauty of spring is finally here.

Magnolia blooms ...

Excuse me, I think I'm about to sneeze!

The sweet fragrance of 'Purple Beauty' phlox.

Delicate dangling hearts.

Muscari, also known as grape hyacinths, have burst forth and scattered.

'Andre Rieu' is always breathtaking.

Blossoms from the pear tree glow against the blue sky.

It's time for me to meet up with some of my other friends.

We hope you enjoyed your tour and will come back often.

Have a lovely weekend.  Happy Mother's Day to all those fantastic mom's out there!

A Sweet Nest

Hi sweet blogging friends,

Is all this rain giving you the blues?  Over the past couple of days the trees have really begun to bud and the birds are starting to nest.  My magnolia tree should be the first to bloom.  My card today features a beautiful digital image by Catherine Chavez from India Rose Vintage.

I started with a base card in Fresh Air and layered it with a piece of Baja Breeze.  Another piece of Fresh Air was embossed using a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Soft Sky seam binding was wrapped around with a triple loop bow.  I couldn't resist adding a flat back white pearl.

This digital image was printed and cut out using a Spellbinders Small Classic Circles die and adhered to a scalloped circle in Baja Breeze.  I added some Star Dust Stickles to the flowers and popped it up.

Thinking of you was stamped in Baja Breeze and embossed with clear embossing powder with a heat gun.  It was cut out using the PTI banner die.

The inside sentiment was stamped on a Spellbinders Labels Eight #5 die.  A few eggs were stamped and colored with a blender pen in Soft Sky & Tempting Turquoise.  The speckles were done with a Close to Cocoa marker.

I also created a sticker for the back of the envelope using the same image.  It was punched out with a 1 3/8" circle punch and put through my Xyron sticker maker.

Wishing you a bright and beautiful May Day!  I hope to do quite a bit of crafting this weekend.
