Randi's Song for Autumn

When it comes to autumn my go to stamp set is Randi's Song by Our Daily Bread Designs.  I've mixed up colors and have created numerous cards with this pretty set.

I stamped the Ecclesiastes 3:1 in StazOn Timber Brown on a piece of Shimmery White paper, which was cut from a Spellbinders Small Long Rectangle die.  I then sponged the paper with Barely Banana, So Saffron, Summer Sun and Really Rust.  This piece was layered onto a piece of Early Espresso.

The leaf image was stamped on Shimmery White paper using a Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves ink pad then I sponged the leaf with Barely Banana, So Saffron and Summer Sun.  A corner rounder was used on the edges.  I adhered this to a piece of Crushed Curry cut from a Small Classic Square #5 die, which I also rounded the corners.  Everything was layered onto a piece of Early Espresso using an Eyelet Square #3 die.  I weaved a piece of naturals hemp cord through the eyelets.  The card base is Crushed Curry with Early Espresso.  Next, I ran a piece of Really Rust through the Big Shot using a Cuttlebug Victoria Embossing Folder.

The inside sentiment by Impression Obsession was stamped in StazOn Timber Brown and embossed with clear embossing powder with a heat gun.  The tree cluster was stamped using the first two colors of the Kaleidacolor ink pad.

I've missed blogging with all of you.  I hadn't planned on taking a break - it just happened.  I appreciate everyone who still comes by to visit me and leave a comment.  If you are on Facebook you can follow Donna's Designs there too.

Wishing you a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!

Lavender Love ...

Hi everyone,

It feels great to be back from my little break.  I hope you had a blessed Easter with family and friends.  If you have been following my blog, you know I like to press my garden flowers.  I enjoy using them on cards and for special occasions.  There are so many different ways to use your precious flowers and there is no limit on what your imagination can create with them.  Dried lavender stalks are also awesome for crafts.

Today I have some gift tags made from Old Lace cardstock.  Each tag was cut 2" x 4" and the tops were punched with the Stampin' Up scalloped tag topper punch.  To create a little French flair, I stamped each one using the En Francais background stamp with Brilliance Pearlescent Beige ink.  The edges were also sponged in Brilliance Pearlesecent Beige.  A piece of 1/8" May Arts lavender silk ribbon was added to the top of each tag.

Several pieces of Old Lace paper were die cut using the Our Daily Bread Designs custom Antique Labels die.  Lavender was stamped on the tags in Lavender Lace and popped up.

Now that all the stamping was done, I glued two dried lavender stalks to each tag and finished them off with a little bow.

A quick and easy way to share your dried flowers with others.  Oh, and they smell wonderful!

Thank you for stopping to visit.

Today I am joining ...

A Christmas Lantern

Good evening friends,

These past few days have been so hectic!  It is my busiest time at work and will continue like that until after the first of the year.  My card for you today uses a pretty digi by Fred, She Said

The Christmas Poinsettia Lantern was printed and cut using a Spellbinders Gold Labels Four #3 die.  Crystal Effects was added to the flame and the flowers were accented with a clear Spica pen - neither show up in the photos  :-(

The focal image was mounted to a piece of Soft Sky, which was also cut from a Gold Labels Four die.  Everything was popped up onto a piece of Gilded Christmas paper by Miki.  You can see the collection at Studio Girls Scrapbookgraphics.

Two circles were cut using the small and large classic circles dies and the greeting was stamped in StazOn Black.  A triple loop bow was made from 1/2" Soft Sky seam binding with a cream flat back pearl in the center.

Here is a look at the inside.  I used a sentiment from the Christmas Blessing set by Our Daily Bread Designs.  A poinsettia flower was adhered to the corner

I don't know about you, but there were so many Christmas cards I wanted to make this year. Unfortunately, I didn't start early enough.  I plan to finish the projects I already started and put them aside for next year.

Last night I noticed Cheops' eye infection has come back so we are giving him drops again twice a day for seven days.  I'm praying this time it will clear up for good.

Blessings ...

ODBD Randi's Song in Fresh Greens

This is the third card I created this year using the Randi's Song set by Our Daily Bread Designs.

I started by stamping the Ecclesiastes 3:1 in StazOn Old Olive on a piece of Shimmery White paper, which was cut from a Spellbinders small long rectangle die.  I then sponged around the edges of the paper using colors from a Kaleidacolor Fresh Greens ink pad.  This piece was layered onto a piece of Old Olive cut from a large long rectangle die.

The leaf image was stamped on Shimmery White paper also using the Kaleidacolor Fresh Greens ink pad then I sponged the leaf in So Saffron, Summer Sun and More Mustard.  I used a corner rounder on the edges.  I adhered this to a piece of More Mustard cut from a Nesties small classic square #5 die, which I also used a corner rounder and layered it onto a piece of Old Olive cut from a small classic scalloped squares #4 die.  The card base is Old Olive with a Kiwi Kiss mat, which I ran through my Big Shot using the textured impressions square lattice embossing folder.

The inside sentiment by DRS Designs was inked first by loading it with VersaMark then Fresh Greens and embossed with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.  The edges were sponged in Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive.

The little leaf is from SU's With Gratitude set.  This image was stamped in StazOn Old Olive, embossed with clear embossing powder and sponged with Kiwi Kiss and Fresh Greens.

First Day of Autumn

Today marks the changing of the seasons - it is a special day.  The autumnal equinox, where night and day are virtually equal, is a specific moment however, not the entire day.  It is said that during an equinox the sun can be observed directly over the equator.  The equinoxes are the only days the sun rises due east and sets due west.

Autumn is a gorgeous time of year!  Nature gives us a spectacular show of color, and I love rich scented candles that evoke spice and warmth.

"Delicious autumn!  My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns." ~ George Eliot

My card today is in celebration of autumn and the deep layers of richly colored leaves.

May you enjoy the first day of autumn!

Harvest Blessings

While driving to work I see sunflowers and they are so tall and pretty.  Maybe next year I will grow some in my garden.  My card today is inspired by nature and was given to a friend for her birthday.

I stamped the sunflowers from the Harvest Blessings set by Our Daily Bread Designs in StazOn Black on Naturals Ivory cardstock.  The leaves and sunflowers were colored in with ink pads and a blender pen.  I added some copper Stickles to the center of the flowers.

The butterflies were cut from Pumpkin Pie paper with my Big Shot and SU's Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  I painted them with Spiced Cider Shimmerz Paint.

I wasn't sure about the background paper, but then came across my Papertrey Autumn Abundance pad and thought the plaid would go really well with the sunflowers.

I added 3/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon to the corners and glued my bow with Crystal Effects.

The inside sentiment was stamped in VersaMark and embossed with gold embossing powder and a heat gun.
