Fifth Avenue Sympathy

This card was pretty easy to create.  I first sponged the Very Vanilla cardstock with Antique Distressed Linen then stamped the flourishes from Elements of Style in ColorBox Chalk Creamy Brown.  The rose was stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I then sponged the rose with Apricot Appeal & Groovy Guava ink.  To add some shimmer I applied Interference Gold PearlEx.  The sentiment was stamped in Groovy Guava on Barely Banana cardstock, heat embossed with clear embossing powder and lightly sponged with ColorBox Chalk Creamy Brown.  Lastly, I added some champagne pearls to finish it off.

Here is a peek at the inside.

This card is made using the DCWV Mariposa paper.  There is not a lot of stamping on this one as I didn't want to cover up this gorgeous paper.  If you haven't seen this stack it is decorated with enchanting butterflies, swirling florals, and birdcages ... very pretty.

Next month I will be giving away a pack as blog candy!  Please be sure to stop back for your chance to win.

Summer Solstice!

Summer is finally here and so are my coneflowers.  There is nothing more rewarding than seeing my Mango, Orange Meadowbrite and Tiki Torch Echinacea's in bloom!

Dreaming of roses, containers overflowing with flowers and longer days under sunny skies gives us more time to embrace all that summer has to offer.  When we come to the garden seeking rest and rejuvenation, it serves as our sanctuary - a treasured place we can go when the world becomes too much for us and we need to find some peace.

Remember ... keep your dreams alive, faith makes all things possible and believe in yourself.

Blog Design

Hi,

I know some of you have asked me about the colors on my blog.  This Victorian design is the new Stampin' Up colors of Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Marina Mist.

Thank you for coming to visit!

French Charming

Here is a quick tutorial for this card:

1.  Cut a mat out of Sahara Sand Cardstock 4” x 5 ¼”.
2.  Stamped the En Francais background stamp with Sahara Sand ink.
3.  I used my Martha Stewart Ribbon Slot Punch at the bottom of the mat and added my ribbon.
4.  I cut the bottom off of a manila tag so it would fit on my mat and randomly stamped the medallion image in Sahara Sand (first stamping off once on scrap paper except for two locations)
5.  I added a piece of Sage Shadow Cardstock at the bottom of the tag and used my tearing tool to rip it.
6.  I stamped the small damask image in Sage Shadow (first stamping off once on scrap paper).
7.  I then positioned the flower image & butterfly and stamped them using Sage Shadow.
8.  The border & sentiment were stamped on Sage Shadow Cardstock using Sage Shadow ink with VersaMark and clear embossing powder. This was then cut out by hand.
9.  Next I sponged the edges of the Sahara Sand mat, manila tag and Sage Shadow Cardstock with ColorBox Chalk Creamy Brown.
10. I added a piece of ribbon through the tag.
11. Lastly, I sponged Candle Light Shimmerz Paint on the Sahara Sand mat for a vintage look. Unfortunately, it does not show up in my scan, but it gives it a pretty shimmer.
12. Everything was mounted to a cream linen card base 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Charming, En Francais
Paper:  Cream Linen, Sahara Sand, Sage Shadow, Manila Tag
Ink: Sahara Sand, Sage Shadow, ColorBox Chalk Creamy Brown
