Little Things ...

Hello friends,

As spring emerges so do the gardens ...

My violets are blooming,

So charming in pink ...

and pale purple!

I'm enchanted by little bouquets.

I've been fertilizing and preparing the soil.  It's time for me to get my hands dirty ...

Thank you for stopping to visit!

Geranium Salt Scrub

Hello friends,

The other day I made a geranium body scrub using pretty pink Himalayan sea salt.  Another simple and easy homemade scrub you can enjoy in the shower.  The aroma of geranium flowers enhances your mood while the sea salt is a rich source of minerals for your skin.

Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup pink Himalayan sea salt
  • 4-6 drops Geranium essential oil (therapeutic-grade)
In a small mixing bowl, combine pink Himalayan sea salt and coconut oil.  Stir mixture then add 4-6 drops of geranium essential oil.  Mix well and spoon your scrub into a glass jar with an airtight lid.

Decorate your jar with a label and ribbon.  I used a piece of taffeta Rich Razzleberry by Stampin' Up.

The next time you are in the shower scoop out a bit and enjoy the lingering scent while you exfoliate your skin.

Happy scrubbing!

Sing

Happy Sunday,

My card today was inspired by the singing birds outside my bedroom window.  The sounds of spring are here, but the weather isn't cooperating.  I woke to a blanket of snow.  Although it looks pretty it is April, right?

The paper used for the card base is Old Lace.  I then took a piece of Pink Pirouette and ran it through the Big Shot using the Tim Holtz On the Edge Brackets Die cutting both sides.  Another piece of Old Lace was added with the focal image on top.  Glitter accents the bird and leaves.

A triple loop bow was created using pink seam binding with the center accented in an ivory flower pearl.

The oval flourish on the inside of the card was stamped in Lost Lagoon ink (stamped off first on scrap paper).  From the Heart was stamped in StazOn Timber Brown.  Sponging was done with Crumb Cake, Adirondack Latte and Pink Pirouette.  A clear Spica pen adds a little sparkle to it.

I was tempted to add something else to the card, but stopped myself.  Sometimes less is more  :-)

I think this is the perfect weather to make a savory pot roast in the crock pot with lots of vegetables.

Here's hoping your weekend has been filled with smiles.
