French Foliage Colors

On my drives to and from work I have been enjoying the autumn colors with the beautiful oranges and reds on the trees.  This card was created using Stampin' Up's French Foliage set.

I started by sponging a piece of Naturals Ivory paper with Distress Antique Linen, Adirondack Lettuce and Certainly Celery.  The leaves were stamped in Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard.  I then lightly colored them with Prismacolor Pencils.  The splatters were stamped in Crumb Cake.

Autumn was stamped in Old Olive and embossed with clear embossing powder.  It was adhered to a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two.  A rainbow string bow and pearls finish off the label.

The inside sentiment is a stamp by Impression Obsession.  It was stamped on a Spellbinders Labels Seventeen #5 also in Old Olive.

My husband saw the background paper sitting on the counter and asked me if that was printed paper.  I chuckled and replied "No, I stamped those leaves!"

I hope I have made you "ooh & aah" for the autumn season.  Enjoy the brilliant colors!

A Stream in the Woods

There is something so serene and beautiful about the woods - the sound of scurrying critters and the trickle of water.  While walking in the woods there is such a sense of freedom and no one is there to judge you.  I have envisioned a steam in the woods for a while now and finally got the chance to make this Stampscapes card.

On a piece of glossy white paper I stamped the waterside bluff left & right in StazOn Green then stamped the trees in StazOn Timber Brown.  The trunks were colored with Early Espresso and ColorBox Chalk Dark Brown.  Next, I colored the rocks with Basic Gray & Distress Forest Moss.

The grass was sponged in Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Garden Green and Distress Forest Moss.  I stamped some tall grass in Always Artichoke.

Water was colored in Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, Marina Mist, Bermuda Bay, and Night of Navy.  I then added a tiny bit of Creamy Caramel and Kiwi Kiss.  It is hard to believe I used so many colors, but when it comes to blending I like to start with a light color palette and work from there.  The sky was done in Bashful Blue.  Angel Wings Shimmerz Paint was added to the water.

The scene was adhered to a piece of Early Espresso and mounted to a light green card.

Wishing you a peaceful and relaxing weekend!

French Mannequin

I have a vintage thank you card to share with you today.  This gorgeous French Mannequin stamp is by Cherry Pie Art Stamps.  A little something I picked up on Etsy.  The vintage tape measure is a digital image by Vectoria Designs.  I love the way these two designs came together.

The mannequin was stamped in StazOn Black on a piece of tea stained paper.  I then used my ticket corner punch on the edges and mounted it to a piece of coco paper.  Opaline pearls in champagne were added to the corners.  I then thought she needed a pretty pearl necklace to match!  The focal image was mounted to a piece of K&Company Ancestry.com paper.

A piece of coco paper was cut using the Tim Holtz On the Edge Brackets die.  I adhered the vintage measuring tape to the side.  A triple loop bow was made from tea stained seam binding.  An ivory rose accents the middle.

The inside sentiment was stamped in StazOn Black with a flourish done in Distress Antique Linen.

I liked this card so much I almost didn't want to part with it, but I created it for a gal I work with.
