DIY Lavender Salt Scrub

Hi everyone,

Today I have a DIY project to share with you.  I have been wanting to make my own Lavender Salt Scrub.  What a great way to unwind after a long day or to pamper your skin during the winter months.  All you need are three ingredients and a glass jar - simple and easy!

Epsom salt is fantastic for exfoliating your skin and making it feel soft.  Coconut oil helps to moisturize dry skin.  Lavender essential oil adds the perfect aroma to your scrub.

In a glass bowl, mix Epsom salt, coconut oil and Lavender essential oil.

I then added a teaspoon of organic dried lavender buds (optional).

These particular buds are "Ultra Blue" grown in the Provence region of France, near Montbrun Les Bains.

Transfer mixture to a glass jar with covered lid.

Decorate with a pretty label and ribbon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Epsom Salt
  • 1/2 cup organic extra-virgin coconut oil
  • 8 drops Lavender essential oil
  • Organic dried lavender buds (optional)
Since I enjoy making scrubs I do them in smaller batches.  You can double the recipe for a pint sized mason jar.  Please remember to always use therapeutic-grade essential oils since this will be going on your skin.

Happy exfoliating!

Heart Candy Bags

Hi everyone,

Today I have something sweet to share with you.  A while ago I purchased a bunch of Longaberger Hershey's Kisses Sweetheart fabric bags.  They were on clearance and you couldn't beat the price!

When they arrived my husband said to me, "What are you going to do with all those bags?"  Well, now he knows - each one was filled with Hershey Kisses & Hearts.  Isn't the fabric just adorable with the hearts and kisses?

I have already boxed some to mail to family & friends.  This basket will be brought to work for co-workers to enjoy.  A cute and simple way to show my appreciation.

I didn't want to settle for a boring rectangular box and wanted to put a little bit more "heart" into Valentine's Day.  The leftover candy went to hubby so it was a win-win!

Thank you for dropping by to visit.  Have a sweet day!

Key Gift Tags

Hi blogging friends,

Wow, I can't believe another week is upon us.  January has just been flying by!  I hope you are keeping warm and cozy after the pile of snow some of you received.  I have a set of key tags to show you today using a Hero Arts stamp with matching die.

The images were stamped in StazOn Timber Brown onto a piece of Gilded Christmas paper (although the paper doesn't look Christmasy).  Sponging was done with Distress Antique Linen and Pink Pirouette.  They were cut out using the Hero Arts Rectangle Frame Cuts.

Mini clay roses were made using Stampin' Up clay with Pixie Pink ink.  These were a little tough to handle because they are so small.  I ended up putting the mold into the freezer for a few minutes before popping the roses out.  Once they set I sprayed them with Sheer Shimmer Frost.

Cute antique brass keys were tied around organza ribbon with gold cording.

These tags would be great for either Valentine's Day or as Thank You tags.  It seems I am becoming a gift tag-a-holic.  I love making gift tags - so quick and easy!

Have a wonderful evening and thank you for stopping by.
