Crafty Butterfly in Yellow

Yellow is not a color I use very often for backgrounds even though it represents joy, sunshine and the tropics.  This particular card took no time at all to create.

The image from Crafty Individuals was stamped in StazOn Black onto Shimmery White paper then sponged with Summer Sun & Groovy Guava.  I added a gold brad to the center of the flower and Fruit Punch Stickles to the butterfly.

The background paper is Barely Banana which I ran through my Big Shot using the Cuttlebug Jamara Embossing Folder.  I then applied Folk Art Acrylic Paint in Metallic Pure Gold to highlight the embossing.

I distressed a piece of Groovy Guava paper and assembled my card.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Crafty Individuals C1-296
Paper:  Natural White Linen, Barely Banana, Groovy Guava, Shimmery White
Ink:  StazOn Black, Summer Sun, Groovy Guava
Accessories:  Folk Art Acrylic Paint in Metallic Pure Gold, Fruit Punch Stickles, Edge Distresser, Cuttlebug Jamara Embossing Folder, Gold Brad
Techniques:  Sponging

Very pretty card, Donna!! I love the image and the colors you used on it. I also like texture of the embossing folder, I'll have to look for that one.

Hi Donna
Any card with a butterfly is pretty, yours are always exceptional. I just noticed under 'Cards' label the photo keeps changing - that's really cool.
Hope you're having good weather.

Hi Donna,
I have been in the land of the lost!!!! I was extremely busy finishing the school year. As if that was not enough to keep me occupied, I moved my stamping room downstairs! I am slowly coming to life again and visiting my favorite blogs. I wished you lived closer because I would love to meet you, stamp with you, and visit you gorgeous gardens.
I will visit on a more regular basis now.

Lovely card. I like your color combo and the different techniques you used. I haven't tried paint to highlight an embossed image, but it sure adds a pretty depth to your card.
