Howling

I have a Stampscapes card to share with you today. I created this for a high school friend's birthday.

On a piece of Kromekote glossy white paper I stamped the Brookside Boulders, Boulders with Lichen and Oak Branch in StazOn Stone Gray.  I had to do some masking to stack the boulders.  The wolf was stamped in StazOn Black.  Using a 1" circle punch and a Post-it note I created a mask for the moon.  Once applied to the card then came the fun part ... sponging!

The sky was colored with Bordering Blue, Ballet Blue and Adirondack Denim.  I then removed the Post-it note.  Water was sponged with Bordering Blue, Marina Mist and Tempting Turquoise.  If portions seem a little too bright or dark I sponge some ColorBox Frost White to lighten and even things out.  Angel Wings Shimmerz Paint was added to the water.  The boulders were sponged with Basic Gray, Going Gray, Distress Black Soot, Basic Black and Distress Forest Moss.  I just dabbed the colors here and there until I was satisfied.

The focal image was adhered to a piece of Buckaroo Blue and mounted to a card made from Fresh Air paper.

Happy Birthday was stamped inside with Buckaroo Blue ink and embossed with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.  A few more branches were stamped to coordinate.

I truly enjoy creating these types of scenes.  They really aren't too difficult and I love sponging. Some stampers use stylus tools and I do have one, but find sponging to be much easier for me.  If I press too hard with the stylus it can leave an oval imprint with ink and no one wants that.  If you ever have any questions, please feel free to email me.  I would love to hear from you.

Wishing you a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!  See you soon ...
