Gardening for Butterflies

There seems to be no shortage of butterflies in my gardens this year.  Their colorful wings add a decorator's touch as they flutter from flower to flower.

Over this past weekend, I was able to capture a photo of this Monarch on my orange coneflowers.  I've often wondered if butterflies are attracted to a certain flower color; however, my coneflowers, coreopsis, and lavender seem to be irresistible to them.

Perhaps it's time to invest in a butterfly house!

Gorgeous photograph! I've had some butterflies stopping by my flowers as well, including a black and white zebra striped one I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing =)
