Royal Albert "Goldfinch"

Hi everyone,

I am joining Bernideen today for Tea in the Garden on Saturday.  I have set up a little space here near the pond for us.  I hope you will sit and stay for a while.

(click photos to enlarge)
Orange Meadowbrite ‘Art’s Pride’and ‘Tiki Torch’ Echinaceas are in full bloom.  I love the cheerful colored flowers with tangerine-orange blooms.  They have a delicious scent of sweet, orange-spiced tea.

A close up of the 'Tiki Torch'.

A Calamagrostis ‘Overdam’ is the backdrop for our pretty coreopsis.  This variegated grass with beautiful creamy-white vertical stripes has attractive ivory colored flowering spikes.

Here is another picture of the pond garden from a different angle.

A little frog with toadstool sits next to a Carex elata 'Aurea'.

This brightly hued Royal Albert Goldfinch cup & saucer is perfect for our outdoor setting.  Imagine sipping your favorite tea from this lovely china which has a montrose shaped cup with gold trim.

A peek at the bottom of the saucer.

In keeping with our bird theme I have a bird figurine to share with you.

The yellow napkin is from The Pottery Barn and a Lenox sculpted napkin ring provides a perch for the sculpted bird.

I hope you will visit the other participants joining Tea in the Garden.  I am also linking with the following ladies:

What a lovely, leisurely stoll I just had through your absolutely beautiful garden. Would be so nice to sit and enjoy into the evening without those pesky mosquitoes.

Love seeing all the beautiful flowers in your garden. Can't wait to start mine in our new home in Yarmouth. My mom has a set of Royal Albert china. My dad's name was Albert, so he got a chuckle out of her collection. Thanks for sharing.

How beautiful!! The flowers, the tea cup and the bird figurine...all so perfect. I would love to have a little pond like that someday...when my 2 boys are older. lol My mother actually wanted something like that with water plants so she placed them in a wash tub with a pump for now. I'm sure a pond like that is comming soon. It's cute how she has it, but I can't keep the boys out of it.

Hi Donna
I like the bird theme you used for your tea today. I've tried various selections of the hybrid echinaceas and some just fizzle out while others remain robust - who can figure it? Your patch is colourful.

What a great atmosphere for a cup of tea. The sounds of your pond while the birds sing and the wonderful view of the garden. Very tranquil. Love the bird theme. I've enjoyed catching up on your blog after returning home from traveling.

Donna, Your garden is lovely! The 'Tiki Torch' echinacea is dazzling. I have a similar echinacea called 'Sundown.' I am really liking your goldfinch tea cup, too. It was a pleasure visiting you today.

Gorgeous!! I wish I could stop by to have some tea with you. Your gardens are beautiful. Here in Texas, I have given up on the garden with the draught. :(
