Spooky Dark & Dreary

This card is all about the embossed spiderweb background.  I'm sure most of you have seen or tried this technique before.  I used my Cuttlebug spiderweb embossing folder and rubbed one side of it with ColorBox Frost White ink, then placed a piece of black pearl paper inside and ran it through the Big Shot.  I love the white highlights and how it makes the web pop.

The web-laced candelabrum stamp was inked in VersaMark then StazOn Black and embossed with clear embossing powder and a heat gun.  I colored the base of the candelabrum with a silver spica pen and the candlesticks with a Lovely Lilac Marker.  The bulbs were done with a lemon spica pen.  I sponged around the edges of the rectangle in Distressed Black Soot and adhered it to a piece of Basic Black.

The antique silver spooky metal plate was glued to a piece of Lovely Lilac paper cut from a Nesties Labels Fourteen #2 die and sponged in Black Soot.  While assembling this card I came across these black spider brads from Eyelet Outlet.

The embossed background was layered onto a piece of Lovely Lilac, then Brushed Silver and mounted to a Black Linen card.  I think this is a great masculine card for Halloween.  I will finish the inside when I know who the recipient will be.

I just love this candelabrum stamp.
