Last of the Pansies

Most of my vases are vintage medicine bottles, pitchers or glass treasures which have followed me home from the antique store.

I've rescued the last of the pansies from the 'dog days' of summer ...

they look so pretty in these amethyst bottles ...

and will be delightful on the windowsill with the sun shining through them.

"Nobody can keep on being angry if she looks into the heart of a pansy for a little while." ~ L.M. Montgomery

At the moment, I will enjoy these heirlooms or should I say 'tufted pansies' as they were known back in the 1800's.  Wishing you an amazing, awesome August day!

I love the beautiful purple color both on the vase and the flower! I am into flea market and vintage anything. What a beautiful way to use this vintage bottle!

Purple's my favorite color! You must have an amazing collection of glasses, plates and such. Gorgeous photos, and a lovely quote!

Have a wonderful day,

They do look like smiling faces don't they! Very pretty flowers - the colour and size of the vases you have put them in suits pansies perfectly.

Donna,

Your Pansy's are lovely in their blue medicine bottles. Very nice soft hues.

I like the way you've paired the pansies with the bottles.

Lovely blog background and header.

Donna, your compositions are always so wonderful.
We said goodbye to the last of our pansies about a week ago. It's that time of year, and although I love the colors of fall, I will miss the summer.
You have a wonderful weekend!

I love that pansy quote. I spent hours as a child imagining my picked pansies were real people.

Beautiful blooms Donna and I love them in the vintage bottles. Last year I had pansies into the Fall. Not this year. It was just too hot. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
Hugs,
Jann
