Lovin' my Surface Pro 3

Hello there!  Well, I've been talking about it and talking about it and finally this week I purchased the Microsoft Surface Pro 3.  I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I am to have this laptop/tablet in my hand.  Please note that my review is based on the 256GB / i7 model.  I cannot speak for the i3 or i5 processors.

The SP3 has a gorgeous 12-inch display with a 2160 x 1440 resolution.  I won't go into much detail about the specs as you can read all about that on Microsoft's website.

I found the speed to be exceptional and very responsive with no lag time.  No issues to report with connecting to Wi-Fi.  As a tablet, it is light and performance is great.  I had a bit of a learning curve with the Windows 8.1 tile interface, but picked it up quickly.  The touch screen is phenomenal.  Having the ability to go from using apps on the tablet to using MS Office on the desktop is awesome!  It has a USB port, microSD card reader and Mini DisplayPort.  The battery life is more than enough for me coming in with at least 7 hours.

A surface pen, which is included, is solid and allows you to write naturally and even draw.  Just click the end button once to bring up OneNote and scribble.  If you need to take a screenshot you can click the end button and select what you want to capture on the screen by dragging the tip of the pen.  How cool is that?  There is also an erase button and right-click button.

The multi-position kickstand is fantastic!  It can be adjusted to nearly any angle between 22 degrees and 150 degrees.

I'm still getting used to the idea of having a laptop with a touch screen; however, when I have some serious work that needs to get done I just snap on the magnetic type cover.  I find the keyboard to be very comfortable and love the backlit keys - a winner in my book!

I picked up a sleeve for easy portability.  I couldn't resist the violet polka dot design.  The tablet with cover fits perfectly and there is room for the power cable.

If you compare the Surface Pro 3 to the MacBook Pro they are both great, but the Mac doesn't offer the touch screen or stylus.  I do like Apple products and have a iPhone.

The Surface Pro 3 is a dream to work with.  I think Microsoft built this just for me ... LOL!  I truly can't give it anything less than a 5 star rating!  Ok, it's time for me to get back to touching, tapping and typing  :-)
