Beecher Creek Falls & Bridge

Hi friends,

We have had nothing but beautiful weather and I hope you have been enjoying it.  A drive yesterday brought us to the small Town of Edinburg where we relaxed by Beecher Creek Falls.  The falls are located along the northern side of Great Sacandaga Lake.

It was just a short walk to the fenced viewing area upstream next to the falls.

The falls have a 20 foot drop and form a natural rock set of stairs.

Overlooking the top of the falls.

Taking a selfie!

There is a carefully restored 1879 covered bridge below the falls named after Arad Copeland.  The 35-foot long bridge is New York State's only queenpost truss.

It was picturesque from every angle.

I didn't want to leave, but it was getting late and we still had to find a place to enjoy a nice dinner.

September has been a gorgeous month and next week looks fantastic too!  I'm planning to get some gardening done and enjoy the autumn mums.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hi Donna - love your selfie! Looks like a beautiful area you visited. Love that bridge! Just think of how many people have traveled across it! September has been great (maybe too rainy). I can feel fall coming in.

This really is a beautiful place to visit, and your photograph of the waterfall is wonderful.

I honestly think this has been the best summer in NY that I can remember, and it's really hard to see it leaving us, but indeed it is.
