Are you ready for the weekend? I received some new Memory Box products the other day and love the stamps and dies that coordinate like today's feature, the Mercer Rose Wreath. It is so delicate and beautiful.
I knew right away I wanted to do the Faux Mother of Pearl technique. I placed a small amount of Metallic Pearl White Acrylic Paint on a paint palette then bunched up a piece of Saran Wrap and dipped it into the Pearl Acrylic Paint. I started tapping on my Shimmery White paper to transfer the paint leaving some areas uncovered.
Using the Mercer Rose Wreath die and my Big Shot I cut out the wreath in Shimmery White paper. The matching Mercer Rose stamp was colored with Old Olive and Pretty in Pink markers. I tried to work rather quickly then breathed on the inked image to re-moisten the ink before stamping it. Just as I was doing this my husband walked into the room and gave me the strangest look :-) I should mention I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for placement of the wreath. I did the same technique with the Mercer Rose Background stamp, but only colored the top portion of the stamp.
A pink double loop bow was added to the wreath before it was popped up. Lace ribbon from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store was added to cover the seam on the bottom strip.
I adhered the main panel to a piece of Pretty in Pink and mounted it onto a solar white linen card.
