Pay It Forward Giveaway

The other day as I was heading into a store the person in front of me took the time to hold the door for me.  Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but you see I wasn't in the "zone".  Do you know what I mean?  I was still far enough back that the person could have easily let the door go.  The fact that they took the time to wait made my day.

So I thought it would be nice to have a Pay-It-Forward initiative to show some love to one another.  Originally, I was going to have the first 3 people who leave a comment on this post be the recipients, but that wouldn't be right.  It's not a race.  Like many other bloggers, I work full-time and don't have the luxury of viewing blogs on a whim.

To make things fair, I will randomly select 3 people on Sunday, March 2, 2014 so please leave your comment by Saturday, March 1st.

The 3 winners will receive a "surprise" gift from me during the month of March.  It could be a crafting item, trinket, gift card, something new or something vintage.  Let's just say we will keep it interesting.  I will try to give you something I believe will make you happy.  Keep in mind the winners will need to email me their mailing address.

All I ask of the 3 winners is that they do something nice for someone else.  It can be as simple as holding the door open for someone, leaving a note with a piece of candy on a co-workers desk, treating an acquaintance to a cup of tea or coffee - whatever you can do to show some kindness and make someone smile.

I'm hoping 2014 will be a more enjoyable, friendlier and love filled year!  If you are interested follow Donna's Designs and leave a comment on this post and let the smiles begin  :-)

I have had people do that for me at times. The other day I was eating at a resturant and sitting by the window where I could see out. It was a day when the ice was still on the ground, when and elderly man got out of his car with a walking stick. Two or three young teenagers came up behind him, helped him up onto the sidewalk so he wouldn't fall on the ice and opened the door for him. I was so impressed to see this. There are still young people that repect their elders.

What a kind idea, Donna. Lots of times people will hold the door for me. If it's a double entry, I will walk in and then hold the second door for them. I will find something more meaningful to pay it forward this next week.

Great idea Donna! This world needs a little love... I appreciate that you are encouraging us to be aware of the people around us and to show kindness.. It really does not require much... as you said simply holding a door open.. Love this! Blessings!

A man held the door open for me at the post office yesterday - and he had to wait for me to get there. I love acts of kindness, and try to perform one or two per day. It makes me happy! I love that you're passing on the kindness... it doesn't surprise me at all. You're fabulous!

what kind of you donna.
When I go shopping and I notice someone is behind me I always keep the door open.
And when I must pay and somenone has not so much supplies I let them go first.
And when I go walk in the morning I say te everyone goodmorning some say nothing but the most people do.
We must stay kind well we try.
Hope I answer your question right Donna.

Interesting idea! But don't pick me, as I'm too far away.

Debbie said...

I like this idea! Normally, I don't "expect" to have the door held open for me, but I smile when that happens. I am a romantic and still think that there are those who naturally do nice things for people who really don't think nothing of it. Kind of makes me feel like there is still hope left in the world.

What a wonderful thing to do. I think the more good we do for those around us, even those people we don't know, the better everyone is!

That was so nice of that person to hold the door for you- I love it when people take the time to do things like that. It's nice to know there are still people that care enough to show acts of kindness like that!
