Rain ...

"R" is for Rain ...

As much as I love the sunshine and bright sunny days I also love the rain.  There is something about a spring rain and the way the earth smells and how the hues of nature are richer.  On a rainy, cloudy day I find a cozy place and snuggle up with a book or sip a cup of hot tea.  The sound of rain is calming, peaceful and soothing to the soul.

I enjoy watching the rain through the window and how it touches each flower and moves it ever so slightly.

Seemingly overnight warm temperatures and soft rain transform beige lawns into verdant carpets.  Newly sprouted shoots from perennials have a vibrancy of color.

I am linking with Ms. Jenny over at Jenny Matlock's Alphabe-Thursday.  I hope you will stop to visit the other participants to see their posts for the letter "R".

I think warm rain is fun for us all, and I like to listen to calm rain, not one that accompanied thunder and lightening!

Yes, Donna, rain is a wonderful thing. Too bad it's only a word in the dictionary in sunny Arizona!

Gorgeous photos Donna! We had a ton of rain last weekend and looks as though maybe this coming weekend. We sure need it here in California!

Love your quote of the day!

Blessings,
Donna

We have finally had some desperately needed rain in the last couple of days. I've been truly enjoying the rain.

My daughter does too, she always talks about the rain and loving it, maybe more than the sun. Of course she really loves England too, now there is a place of lots of rain. Have I told you just how pretty your blog is too? It's the perfect shades and cheeriness!

Just as I began to read this post it started to rain!
We've gone from 22" of snow a few weekends ago to 86 degree weather! We haven't had any rain until now.
I love the rain and I also feel it has a cleansing affect on everything! Of course I'm not a fan of rain for 3 days in a row....but sometimes that's how it goes!

I love a rainy day! We don't get many of them here in the desert west, but when we do I enjoy it. Most of our water comes by way of snow...

We desperately need rain here in S Spain too - the reservoirs are getting quite empty!

Lovely post!

I love the rain, as long as I am not in it! (When I was a child I would run through the rain like a little banshee, having fun though). I especially like when a spring/summer storm passes through and then clears up, it makes the outdoors seem sparkling!

beautiful. I love the rain, but more than that I love the aftereffects of just the right amount of rain!

I love the rain on a day when I don't have to leave the house. To have a fire, brew a pot of tea and then watch the rain on the ponds is the best way to spend an afternoon.

That's lovely. I'm afraid six years in the Pacific Northwest gave me a bad attitude toward rainy days but every now and then I manage to put aside the bad memories and notice the sweet after-the-rain scents...

I do love to listen to the rain but it certainly put a damper on my gardening plans yesterday! Have a wonderful week, Nan
