Monogrammed Stationery

As soon as I received the English Ivy paper set I couldn't wait to decorate it.  I pulled out my monogrammed stamp with the elegant Edwardian Script font.

Each piece was stamped in Crumb Cake.

Envelope seals were also made using circle punches and the Monogrammed Sweet set.  The letter H was embossed with clear embossing powder.

I never imagined the art of writing letters would become obsolete.  In the age of text messaging and rushed emails, a good old-fashioned letter is a special treat.  Some days I leave little notes for my husband in his lunch bag or even under his pillow hoping he will find it in the morning.

I have even written short letters to complete strangers and left them in places where I know they would be found.  I like to imagine someone walking by a park bench and seeing my envelope just waiting to be opened.  Inside they might find the handwritten words "Wishing you a wonderful and bright day!"

Several years ago when I was going to the hospital every day for treatment occasionally I would leave a note between the cushions of the couch, poking out slighting where it could be found.  When I returned the next day the note would be gone.  It made me feel good to know that I may have brightened someone's day.  Since I knew they were there for the same reason, I felt they could use some words of encouragement.  Perhaps it brought a smile to their face.  One day I left a note in an elevator to be discovered later.  I always sign them "from a friend."

Have you ever left a letter for someone you didn't know?  If you found one would you read it or possibly take it home with you?  Why not pull out that stationery and leave just one note for someone to find?  You never know how you might touch someone's life!

I love how you've used your monogram stamp...what a great idea! I think leaving notes anonymously as you're doing is wonderful, and I'm sure those who've received your messages feel blessed by your words! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah letters have become extinct pretty much it seems. That is neat how you leave them for strangers, be interesting to see who finds them an what they do.

Your stationary is very pretty, Donna! I do still write letters to relatives far away, but not as often as I used to. I rarely get one back. But when I do, I treasure it. What a sweet idea to leave an anonymous note to brighten someone's day! You are such a sweet soul. Have a lovely weekend, Donna. You make the world a better place. xoxo

Like finding a letter in a bottle washed up to shore..that would be so awesome of a find. I visit Dr.'s waiting rooms a lot..sounds like a fun thing to do while waiting on someone and leaving it behind for someone else to find..Thanks for the wonderful idea and where did you get your personal monogrammed stamp?

I still write old fashioned letters now and then, but I have never left letters for strangers to find, what a lovely idea, especially in hospitals. I have had hospital treatments on a weekly basis for many years, I am fed up of waiting rooms and tired old magazines, if I found a lovely letter from ‘a friend’ I would write a nice message back, on the back of the letter, and then put the letter back where I found it :-)

Your monogrammed stationary is gorgeous, Donna, and I love the little pink bird in the nest! I've not ever left anonymous letters, but I think that is a lovely tradition.

I used to leave notes to strangers a while back, but haven't thought of it in ages. I might just have to start again!
