Haviland "Annette"

Summer is finally here and the temperatures have risen.  During summer, everything seems more vibrant, hopeful, and liberating.  I hope you will join me for tea in the garden on this warm day.

I'm still fond of my birdcages.  This one was a wonderful find at a local antique store.

A sweet little nest with speckled eggs and sprigs of lavender ...

The kettle is on and I have brought out a Theodore Haviland teacup in the 'Annette' pattern.  I love the soft florals with textured edges and gold trim.

Lavender is blooming in the garden with a divine aroma.

Fresh banana nut bread to share ...

Stachys 'Hummelo' lambs ear is showing off its lavender-rose flower spikes.  This perennial plant does not have the same fuzzy, soft leaves as the Stachys byzantine species, but I love it just the same.  The blooms last for a long time and butterflies adore it.

This rabbit is new to the garden.  When I took it out of the box my kitty Cheops didn't know what to make of it  :-)

I hope your week is off to a fantastic start!  I'm pleased to be joining these hosts:

Hello Donna,
Your post is lovely today : )
The tea cup is very sweet and I really love how you treated the image. The cake looks delicious! I am baking a chocolate cake right now, and looking forward to it.
The birdcage is really special.
It looks so pretty on the table in your garden. And, your garden looks amazing! The new bunny a fab accent.

I love birdcages, too and this one is lovely! Your big rabbit is perfect, too! He would be washing away here in FL with all of the rain!

Your birdcage is so pretty. So glad your bunnies are the good kind which just look sweet and not eat all your pretty flowers! I hadn't heard of the other kind of lambs ear. I love the fuzzy one - take a leaf off and brush it on my face and hands as it is so soft- kids love the feel of it too. Plus it has a pleasant mild fragrance also.

Love bird cages - as long as they contain plants and not animals. Guess I'm very eco at heart :-)

Hi Donna,
I love all vignettes you made with this sweet birdcage, the lavender and the beautiful china. That must be a delicious tea time. I smiled when I read that your kitty was impressed by the rabbit. It really looks very natural and looks so nice hidden in the Stachys.
Best greetings, Johanna
