These pictures were taken at Olana, which is near the scenic Hudson River Valley and offers magnificent sweeping vistas of the Catskill Mountains and the Taconic Hills.

The Persian-style estate is that of Frederic Edwin Church. He was one of the most important landscape painters of the nineteenth century.
