Trip to Vermont

In 2008, my husband and I went on a scenic fall foliage getaway to Vermont.  We left Saturday, October 11th for the quaint town of Chester to ride the Green Mountain Flyer on a round trip rail excursion along the Connecticut and Williams Rivers between Chester and Bellow Falls.  The restored classic 1913 coach car passed two covered bridges, a beautiful cascading waterfall and gorge at Brockways Mills.

We stayed at the Wilburton Inn in Manchester, Vermont.  The 1902 grand Victorian estate overlooks the magnificant Battenkill Valley with breathtaking views.  We departed for home on Monday, October 13th.

The vibrant colors of autumn were spectacular.  It was a wonderful and memorable weekend!

I enjoyed your photos here and am thinking of that song "Moonlight in Vermont"!
